  • Summer Art Camp Registration Opens Soon!

Give your child an extra creative outlet over summer break with GDAC’s Summer Art Camps! Students will learn about the elements of art through experimentation with different mediums from drawing, to painting, to sculpture, and more. Each week has a unique theme and activities designed by local artists and art teachers to fit student’s age groups and interests.

Sign up for one week, or all of them! Discounts are available for siblings after the first full-price admission and for GDAC members at the Family-level and above.

  • Monster Art Rally by Paper Chair Studios

This April, our friends at Paper Chair Studios are hosting a unique event that’s part performance, part art bazaar, and part party. The Monster Art Rally is a rare opportunity to watch your favorite local artists making art!

A total of 80 artists are participating across four one-hour shifts, ranging from college students to seasoned professionals. As soon as an artwork is complete, a runner hangs it on the wall for viewing and purchase. Better be quick! Runners can be intercepted, and work may go in a flash.

Each completed artwork is offered at a set price of $50. Artists receive 50% commission on any sale of their work, with the remaining proceeds going directly to support Paper Chair Studios and GDAC.

  • Call for Art: Create a new permanent sign for our building!

Our home, the historic Patterson-Appleton Arts Center, needs a brand new sign on the front so everyone knows what we are and that all are welcome!

We want one of Denton’s many amazing local artists to design it to reflect the talent of our community and our investment in local arts. Click the button below for more details and to submit your proposal!

    Deadline to apply: March 13, 2026 @ 11:00 PM

  • Second Annual Amplify Denton: Accepting Sponsors & Artwork for Auction!

If you love local music and art, and you had a great time at last year’s inaugural Amplify Denton, you can help make this year an even greater success by sponsoring the event! Amplify helps raise crucial funds for both GDAC and DMAC so we can continue making the arts accessible and assist our community’s professional artists.

If you’re one of Denton’s many talented visual artists, you can include artwork in this year’s art auction! Drop off your artwork any during GDAC’s business hours between now and April 11, including a label attached with your name and email. All final bid prices will be split 70/30, with 70% going to the artist, and 30% split between GDAC and DMAC. We will not be including starting bid prices in the auction. Artists can pick up any of their work that does not sell the following week.
