Getting Started with the Arts

In partnership with area universities and school districts, GDAC is developing programs that reach students in the school. One of the benefits of the partnership is our ability to reach all students by eliminating the barriers of financial need or accessibility that some times prohibit children from enjoying arts programming. Every year 12,000+ students enjoy these programs.

This program is provided in collaboration with the University of North Texas, Texas Woman's University, and the Festival Ballet of North Central Texas.

Programs

1st Grade A performance by the Ryan High School Theatre Department.

2nd Grade: KidsDance/Rhythm for Life, presented by TWU Programs in Dance at Margo Jones Auditorium.

3rd Grade: A special performance of the Nutcracker performed by the Festival Ballet of North Central Texas under the direction of Eldar and Lilia Valiev at Margo Jones Auditorium.

4th Grade: Individual class tours of GDAC gallery exhibitions led by our excellent docent volunteers.

5th Grade: A performance of the UNT Wind Symphony and the UNT Symphonic Band at the Murchison Performing Arts Center.
